After years of research into Handel’s own facsimiles, Mr. Bailey has reconstructed Handel’s earliest vision of Messiah. He will discuss the experience of Handel’s initial ideas for Messiah, what it was like in Handel’s first performances of Messiah and other aspects of the liturgical, musical and historical context of this timeless masterpiece.
